WHAT IS THE HIGHLIGHT GUN?
The Highlight Gun is a professional application tool designed to make highlighting faster and more consistent. It lets you load the product once and apply it directly to the hair without repeatedly dipping a brush.
HOW DOES THE HIGHLIGHT GUN WORK?
Mix your lightener according to the manufacturer’s instructions, load it into the Highlight Gun and select the appropriate nozzle. The product is then applied directly and evenly along the selected hair section.
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM USING A TRADITIONAL TINT BRUSH?
A traditional tint brush needs to be reloaded after almost every section. The Highlight Gun holds the product inside the tool, allowing you to apply multiple highlights in a continuous workflow.
DO I STILL NEED TO USE FOIL?
The Highlight Gun is designed for foil-free highlighting, so individual sections do not need to be wrapped. However, the processing method should always match the lightener, technique and result you want to achieve.
DOES IT REPLACE BOTH THE BRUSH AND MIXING BOWL?
It replaces the brush-and-bowl workflow during application, but the lightener still needs to be mixed before filling the Highlight Gun. Always prepare the formula according to the product manufacturer’s instructions.
HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT ACTUALLY SAVE?
It is designed to reduce application time by eliminating repeated dipping, reloading and foil wrapping. The exact amount of time saved depends on the technique, hair and experience of the colorist.
DOES IT APPLY THE PRODUCT EVENLY?
The nozzle helps distribute the product in a controlled and consistent line. The final application also depends on the product consistency, section size, nozzle and pressure used.
IS THE HIGHLIGHT GUN SUITABLE FOR PROFESSIONAL AND AT-HOME USE?
Yes. The Highlight Gun is suitable for both professional colorists and at-home users. Always follow the instructions provided with the Highlight Gun and your chosen lightener, and familiarize yourself with the tool before your first application.
USE & COMPATIBILITY
HOW DO I USE THE HIGHLIGHT GUN FOR THE FIRST TIME?
Before your first client application, familiarize yourself with filling, dispensing and cleaning the tool. Test different amounts of pressure and practice creating consistent lines—optionally, you can also practice on a mannequin.
HOW DO I FILL THE HIGHLIGHT GUN?
Prepare the lightener separately and mix it until smooth. Open the Highlight Gun, carefully add the product without overfilling it and securely reattach all components before application.
HOW MUCH PRODUCT DOES THE HIGHLIGHT GUN HOLD?
The Highlight Gun holds approximately 200 ml of mixed product. This allows you to apply multiple sections without having to refill the tool repeatedly.
WHICH TYPES OF LIGHTENER CAN I USE?
The Highlight Gun works best with smooth, cream-based professional lighteners. Extremely thick, grainy or fast-drying formulas may be more difficult to dispense.
CAN I USE ANY MIXING RATIO?
Always follow the mixing ratio recommended by the lightener manufacturer. If the finished formula is too thick to dispense properly, use a more suitable formula rather than changing the approved ratio.
CAN IT BE USED ON EVERY HAIR TYPE?
The Highlight Gun can be used across different hair types, lengths and textures. Section size, product amount and application technique may need to be adjusted for each client.
WHICH HIGHLIGHTING TECHNIQUES IS IT SUITABLE FOR?
The Highlight Gun can be used for a wide range of techniques, including classic weaves and slices, babylights, microlights, teasylights, balayage, foilayage, face-framing highlights, money pieces, ribbon and chunky highlights, halo and peekaboo placements, full and partial highlights, tip-outs and targeted highlight touch-ups. By adjusting the nozzle, section size and product flow, you can create anything from fine, precise highlights to broader freehand applications — with or without foil.
CLEANING & CARE
HOW DO I CLEAN THE HIGHLIGHT GUN?
Disassemble the removable components and rinse them thoroughly with lukewarm water. Remove all remaining product with a soft brush if necessary and allow every part to dry completely before reassembly.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE NOZZLE BECOMES CLOGGED?
Remove the nozzle and rinse or soak it in lukewarm water until the remaining product softens. Do not use excessive force or sharp metal objects, as these could damage the nozzle opening.
HOW LONG WILL THE HIGHLIGHT GUN LAST?
Its lifespan depends on how frequently it is used and how well it is cleaned and maintained. Inspect the tool regularly and stop using it if you notice cracks, leakage or damaged components.
CAN THE HIGHLIGHT GUN GO IN THE DISHWASHER?
No. High temperatures and aggressive dishwasher detergents could damage or deform the components. Clean the Highlight Gun by hand and store it in a cool, dry place.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY ORDER?
Your order includes the Velion Hair Highlight Gun, two different nozzles, two weaving tips, and an instruction sheet explaining how to use the system.
WHAT IS THE HIGHLIGHT GUN MADE FROM?
The introductory version is professionally 3D-printed from PETG. Because of the production method, subtle print lines may be visible and each tool may have small visual differences without affecting its intended use.

HOW LONG DOES DELIVERY TAKE?
Estimated delivery times are displayed during checkout and depend on your location and the selected shipping method. You will receive tracking information once your order has been dispatched.
WILL I HAVE TO PAY IMPORT DUTIES?
For orders delivered outside the European Union, local import duties, taxes or customs fees may apply. These charges are determined by your local authorities and are the customer’s responsibility. For orders to the United States, all applicable import duties are already included, so you will not be charged additional import duties upon delivery.
CAN I RETURN MY ORDER?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt. If your order arrives damaged or contains the wrong item, contact us with your order number and clear photographs so we can help resolve the issue.
